First Exploring the Arts Workshop in the Books

A field of sunflowers and colorful birds turned a blank wall into a temporary window on nature at the Hot Shops Art Center Sept. 6 during the first Exploring the Arts workshop. The free fall workshop series, presented by WhyArts and the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute, is open to adults with developmental and other  disabilities.

WhyArts teaching artist Paula Wallace helped the participants paint and decorate the individual sunflowers and birds. Future workshops will include 3D sculpture, storytelling, theatre and more. All venues are accessible and safe.

The remaining schedule is listed below. This workshop series is made possible by funding from the Lincoln Financial Foundation. To register, contact Rachel Ray at rachel.ray@unmc.edu.
