All Around Town Opens April 29

Works from the Intercultural Senior Center are included in the spring show.

Do you want to see what some of our community partners have been up to this spring? Then plan on attending All Around Town, the 2017 WhyArts Spring Art Show. The event will be held April 29-May 1 at the Hot Shops Art Center, 1301 Nicholas St.

“This show is an exhibition of works from organizations we’ve collaborated with this spring,” said Lisa Kalentjakos, a member of the WhyArts teaching faculty. “We want to showcase the diversity of the populations we serve. Everyone – no matter their age, background, diverse-ability or level of exposure to the arts – can grow from the experience of giving oneself up to the process of creation.” A reception is set for Monday, May 1, from noon to 2:00pm.

Participating organizations include the Intercultural Senior Center, MOSAIC, the Munroe-Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, the Omaha Public Schools Transition Program and VODEC. Show hours are as follows:
