Celeste Butler Joins WhyArts Teaching Faculty

WhyArts is pleased to welcome Celeste Butler to its teaching faculty.

Butler is an Omaha based fiber artist, quiltologist and storyteller. She has exhibited at Carver Bank, Love’s Jazz and Art Center and The Union for Contemporary Art, where she was also a 2017 Fellow.

Butler has also worked on several community art projects that celebrate the pride and culture of North Omaha in collaboration with mothers who have lost children to violence. As an artist in residence, she’s worked with children at Nelson Mandela and Saratoga elementary schools to teach the next generation the art of quilting and storytelling. She also lectures and teaches at Metropolitan Community College.
