WhyArts teaching artist Richard Chung helped children enrolled in Boys Town National Research Hospital’s Preschool Program create bird bath sculptures for the school’s flower garden via a trio of ceramic workshops. The sculptures resulted from a lengthy study of birds initiated by one of the program’s classes. The children can now fill them with water and watch the results. This five-day-a-week early childhood program provides comprehensive educational programming for children ages three to five who are deaf or hard of hearing. Highly trained educators and specialists provide intensive differentiated instruction focused on developing listening and spoken language skills. Take a look!
