Heartland Youth Ballet

HYB The Heartland Youth Ballet consists of a junior performing ensemble and a senior performing ensemble. They provide highly-motivated young dancers with a hands-on connection to the community, the technical training, artistic development, and practical experience needed to pursue professional performing careers. Open, free auditions are held to draw upon the talents of local student dancers. Yearly, through Regional Dance America, Heartland Youth Ballet dancers are awarded scholarships to dance programs at universities across the country.

Heartland Youth Ballet annually provides low-cost performances for children and adults at the Scottish Rite Theater, partners with the Omaha Symphony in Christmas with the Symphony, and performs with the Omaha Symphony in its Family Concert Series. The Company is directed by Rachel Vickrey, a professional dancer for over 20 years in such companies as Ballet Omaha, Tulsa Ballet Theatre, Banff Festival Ballet, North Carolina Dance Theater, and Omaha Theater Ballet. Through her vision and directorship, Heartland Youth Ballet has quickly become an important and respected part of the Omaha community.
