Middle School Programming


WhyArts? artists are leading a series of after-school workshops at a number of schools throughout the Omaha Metro. Artists work on activities with the students for several weeks and then rotate to other schools giving participants the opportunity to experience a wide variety of art forms. After school learning has never been this much fun!

OPL Collaboration – OPL again partnered with WhyArts on 2 Graphic Novels projects this year.  Gene Luen Yang’s “American Born Chinese” and “Anya’s Ghost” by Vera Bristol.  Students explored the theme of these novels from visual, written and theatrical perspectives.  WhyArtist and graphic Artist Jared Frye, Theatre artist Kim Jubenville, Spoken word artist Felicia Webster and make-up artist Josh Mullady led students in various activities.
