WhyArts is celebrating World Autism Day (which technically falls on Wednesday, April 2nd) on Sunday, April 6, 2025. WhyArts + Autism Action Partnership is hoping you will join us at the Gene Leahy Mall, 12pm-2pm, to celebrate!
Autism Action Partnership is planning an afternoon to socialize, have fun, and celebrate the uniqueness we share along with a fun dance party, clowns that do balloons and face painting again this year. There will be food trucks and a few large yard games available as well.

WhyArts and the Iggy Sumnik Family present this show to celebrate Iggy as a gifted ceramic and multi-media artist, prolific in vision and product, who used his love of people, art, and the creative process to impact his community. It will feature a hands-on activity for all ages and abilities, illustrating the impact of artists like Iggy in inspiring others to discover their skills and unique ability to bring even the most remarkable visions to life.
One-of-a-kind pieces from Iggy’s personal archives will be displayed and offered to support WhyArts, where Iggy connected to the Omaha community as a teaching artist. His work in Omaha began in 2005; he returned to his home in Detroit in 2014 and continued as a studio and teaching artist until his premature passing in 2023.

This impressive 60' x 9' mural will enhance the existing Community Vision mural installation, adding vibrancy to our shared space.
