Second Tactile Art Exhibit on Display through Feb. 9

Dr. Jeremy Johnson and one of the pieces he created for “Sensory: Please Touch The Art 2.0.”

Sensory: Please Touch The Art 2.0 is on display at the Criss Library Osborne Family Gallery at the University of Nebraska at Omaha through Feb. 9. Due to inclement weather, the Feb. 11 opening reception, sponsored by WhyArts, has been rescheduled for Feb. 18 from 4:30 to 6:30pm. In conjunction with the reception, Dr. Jeremy Johnson will present “The Power of Accessible Art.”

This tactile art exhibit, which is free and open to the public, is part of a national movement to increase accessibility in museums, galleries and classrooms. The work in this exhibition was produced as part of a series of art-making workshops sponsored by UNO Art Education, UNO Art & Art History, the Nebraska Arts Council, Outlook Nebraska, Omaha Association of the Blind and WhyArts.
