Julie grew up in Omaha, attending Catholic schools and absorbing the appropriate amount of guilt and quality education. She double majored in Theatre and Communications at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and went on to get her Masters of Fine Arts and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. As a graduate student she taught Intro to Theatre classes to undergraduates, and got her first experience sharing the joy of theatre and the arts with students.
Julie then moved to Los Angeles, California, working for MGM Studios, Trilogy Entertainment, and eventually as an agent for makeup and hair department heads in film and television. She got a few small acting roles in television, but eventually found her way back to the theatre. After fifteen years, she moved back to Omaha, where she has been thrilled to discover Omaha’s phenomenal theatre community. She has appeared in productions at Bluebarn, Omaha Community Playhouse, and Great Plains Theatre Conference. She is thrilled to join Why Arts and be part of their mission to share the many benefits of the arts with people of all ages.
