Mari

Theresa Sindelar

Mari – Mari’s pronouns are she/her and she is autistic. We first meet Mari in middle school as she tries to exert her independence in the kitchen. Even though she loses her cool at times, she succeeds in easing her dad’s anxiety. When in High school, we see Mari trying to build enough courage to ask Zip, a boy that she likes, to a school dance. Her younger sisters, Rae and Jamie build her up and encourage her to be brave. When things don’t go according to plan, Mari handles herself with integrity, grace and strength. She is a wonderful role model for her younger sisters.
