Sheila Johns

Teaching Artist

Sheila has embraced creativity in many forms throughout her life, beginning with a career in cosmetology before expanding into a variety of artistic endeavors. Her passion for exploring new techniques and mediums has fueled a lifelong journey of artistic expression.

Sheila’s creative repertoire includes working with pencil and graphite, gouache, acrylics, oils, colored pencils, markers, pen-brush and ink, and airbrush. She also enjoys experimenting with mixed media on canvas, finding joy in combining textures and techniques. Beyond traditional art forms, photography and floral design are also part of her artistic toolkit, reflecting her love for capturing beauty in diverse ways.

Her dedication to the arts is supported by her education. After graduating from The School of Commercial Art, Sheila earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer graphics from the College of Saint Mary. This foundation enabled her to design advertising and promotional materials, including work for the widely recognized US WEST Direct and US WEST Dex telephone directories.

Now retired, Sheila devotes her time to creating art in whatever form inspires her. She shares her work with others through her Facebook page, “Sheila’s Originals,” where her creativity and passion are on full display.
