Will Moffitt - Artist and Educator

Creating things has always been a driving force in Will’s life. As early as he can remember, he was encouraged by teachers and family to explore his creativity. Growing up, Will recognized the value of making art as a great way to self regulate, and knew he would eventually like to share that valuable skill with others through teaching.

In 2025, he graduated from University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art and an endorsement in K-12 Art Education. During his time as a student teacher, he co-taught a high school ceramics class and an elementary art class. He currently is a substitute teacher and is a Teaching Artist for WhyArts.

Teaching Philosophy

Will believes that teaching art begins with connection. By exploring students’ interests through conversation, he individualizes content to keep them engaged. Will’s goal is to introduce his students to a wide variety of creative expressions in hope that they find what keeps them creating throughout every stage of life.

Artistic Specialties

In his own art, Will works across many mediums. He enjoys painting, drawing, sewing, and sculptural ceramics. Will’s work is usually figurative, typically depicting ambiguous human-like creatures that represent different parts of his emotional experience of daily life. He focuses on body language and facial expressions of his characters to communicate a story through feeling.
