Kids on the Block Puppeteer

Justin has been a disability advocate since the Spring of 1990 when at 10 months of age he
showed students that a baby with Down syndrome is just a baby. Justin continues to speak to
hundreds of students and adults about his life as an adult with Down syndrome every year since
1990. His accomplishments that he shares includes the following:
1) Working in competitive employment since June, 2010 thus paying taxes. He currently works
at Millard North High School, his alma mater.
2) Living in a market rate apartment since January, 2014 with his best friend who also has
Down syndrome.
3) Enjoying life as an adult which can include dating and drinking alcohol.
4) Continuing his advocacy through Kids on the Block by showing that adults with disabilities
can be puppeteers.
5) Promoting an important message about bullying through Kids on the Block.
“He is more like you than different.”
