Dave Wingert
Boomer Radio Morning Show Host

Dave Wingert is an award-winning radio broadcaster and stage/theater actor. Born in New York City and raised in Pittsburgh, he attended Ohio University (the one in Athens, not Columbus). He first drove into Omaha on a hot summer day in 1975 after hearing that WOW Radio was looking for a replacement for Jimmy O’Neal. Between then and now, Dave has left Omaha three times for chapters elsewhere, but he has always returned to his adopted hometown.
Most recently, Dave was inducted into the Nebraska Broadcasters Hall of Fame—“one of the most thrilling events of my 55-year career.” On weekdays, “Wingy” can be heard on the privately owned Boomer Radio (MyBoomerRadio.com), one of the successful expressions of Walnut Media.
“When I was invited to join the Board of Directors of WhyArts, I was thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to listen and learn from fellow artists and creatives who facilitate an astounding organization providing life-transforming programs for my fellow Omahans of all ages and abilities.”
Dave lives in Midtown with his adorable cat, Max.
